A few words regarding my illustration for 'glamour' are probably warranted. For me, glamour is a subtype of beauty and a particular notion of beauty at that: One that emphasizes youth and fertility. But there are other ideas of what beauty is. I understand that for the ancient Greeks ideal forms and truth was the ultimate beauty with every other notion being false and shallow. For other cultures, spiritual completeness is the ultimate beauty. And for still others health and vitality is the best demonstration of beauty.
In my illustration Venus, as in Sandro Botticelli's Birth of Venus, is a young female that is one part human (representing passion) and one part a graphic wireframe illusion (representing pure form, pure facts). The Venus on the left represents youth and truth. The Venus on the right represents age, imperfection and wisdom.
This illustration is available as an approximately 13x16 inch print on beautiful watercolor paper.
