What what do you like/enthuses you about photography? Why?

Trying to capture 'that' moment, trying to capture the exact reproduction of a certain place or person, and then finding out that the camera does sometimes see things differently. Not necessarily a bad thing, but it can be surprising. However I think I've developed a feel for how the camera records something - even though I do run into the occassional surprise from time to time.

What do you like about technology (internet, digital photography, etc.)? What frustrates you the most?

I love the fact that people all over the world can see photos I've taken ten minutes ago in my little corner of the world right now - with the uprise of digital cameras and the Internet it seems like the world got smaller - in a good way. The thing that frustrates me is people reproducing my photos without my consent, but there's no way to stop them really.

What is the most beautiful thing in the world? Tell us about it and why you find it compelling.

That's a difficult question, Dale.... there are so many beautiful things, however if I have to choose right now I'd say flowers. It's really incredible how these flowers are structured and how delecate they really are. Yet, some of them appear to be unbreakable - it really is quite wondrous.

What is the most fragile thing in the world? Explain why.

The ego. *grin*

What quote from a writer do you particularly like? If you like, tell us why.

My favourite quote is by Marion Zimmer Bradley, the author of 'Mists of Avalon' and that's where the quote is from too. It's: "No man or woman can live another's fate". It is one of the lead characters, Vivianne, a priestess (the Lady of the Lake) who says this, and every time I read it I think; Yes, she's right. I have to live my own life and I shouldn't conform to other's wishes of what they would like me to be.

If you could take a picture of anything in the world, what would it be of?

There's a long list... but at this point in time I would have to say, the Egyptian pyramids with a couple of camels in front.
